Hi, I’m Shailie! I’m a Registered Psychotherapist in Barrie with a background in creative writing, visual arts, and music. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I work with teens (12+) and adults.
Maybe you’re tired of feeling like your emotions are in control. You find yourself saying or doing things in the heat of the moment that don’t reflect how you truly feel. Maybe you’re constantly on edge, or you’ve spent years putting everyone else’s needs before your own, saying “yes” when you want to say “no.” You may feel misunderstood, exhausted from masking, or like you’re working twice as hard. You might often ask yourself, “Where do I belong? What is my purpose?”
Whatever has brought you here, I am grateful and honoured to be a part of YOUR journey.
Therapy with me is holistic, creative, and flexible. I recognize the impact the mind, body, emotion, spirit, community, and lived experience have on our overall health and well-being. In our sessions, you always decide what feels important to focus on. We set goals together, and I check in to make sure our work feels helpful and meaningful. I’m not an overly structured or homework-heavy therapist. Instead, I adapt to what you need in the moment, trusting that you are the expert on your own life while I offer support, insight, and practical tools when they’re needed.
If you want to learn more about my approach, feel free to do a little research on Parts Work, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT, Creative Expression, Strengths-Based, and Neuro-Affirming therapy.

More About Me
Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me painting, writing, or with a camera in hand somewhere in the woods. I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and love kettlebell workouts, and I recharge through hiking and solo camping. I’m equally happy discovering a great bakery, getting lost in a bookstore, or diving into a good sci-fi novel.
