Hi, I’m Neil! I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in Barrie, Ontario. I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I earned my Primary Care Paramedic Diploma and served for over five years as a medic in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Starting therapy can be a big step, and I believe it begins with finding someone you feel comfortable talking to. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, relational challenges, a difficult life transition, or questions around identity, I aim to create a space of curiosity, warmth, and collaboration where you can authentically express yourself, make sense of the challenges you’re facing, and move toward meaningful change.
I view therapy through a systemic-relational lens, meaning I consider you within the context of your relationships, life experiences, and the broader systems that shape your world, such as your family, communities, and culture. My approach is grounded in Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy and is also informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
I work with individuals (ages 14+) and couples, offering both in-person sessions in Barrie and virtual sessions across Ontario. I welcome clients from all walks of life, and am particularly drawn to working with couples, first responders, and veterans. I’m also interested in working with newcomers to Canada and individuals identifying as BIPOC and/or 2SLGBTIA+.
Together, we can identify what’s already working, make sense of difficult experiences, and explore practical steps toward the life and relationships that matter most to you. Reach out today or book a free 15min consult online to see if we are a good fit!

More About Me
Outside of therapy, I love spending time in nature, travelling, listening to music, and cooking. I’ve backpacked extensively around the world which has deepened my awareness of the power and privilege I hold and continues to shape how I relate to others. I’ve also spent multiple years working in the specialty coffee industry and I play the piano!
