Hi I’m Kristin (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and practicum student in Barrie, ON. I am in the final stages of completing my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. I have an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and both a Law Degree and Master’s in Law from Western University. I work with individuals, ages 13+, and couples, virtually across Ontario, and in person in Barrie. My previous experience working as a lawyer ignited my desire to help people in the mental health field.

It is often said that “life is not for the faint of heart” – Natasha Lyonne. This resonates with me. While life can be beautiful and amazing, it often carries challenges. At times, we may need help navigating these challenges, and I am here to walk beside you, encourage you, and support you, in whatever way you need during these times.

I take an integrative approach to counselling, drawing on aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt and Psychodrama Therapy, as well as Mindfulness, to support my clients’ journey. I will work collaboratively with you, as the expert on your own life, to tailor an approach that best suits your perspectives and challenges, while providing you with the support you desire. I look forward to walking beside you!

When not working, I am usually chasing after my active toddler and trying to keep my dog out of mischief.  I enjoy hiking with my husband, reading, and getting out for the occasional row on Kempenfelt Bay.
