Here’s what our process looks like:
Step 1: Intake Call
When you reach out for a free 15-minute consultation with our team, we seek to understand your goals for therapy and match you with a therapist best suited for your individual needs and personality.
Step 2: Assessment
In your first meeting with your anger management therapist, you’ll get to know one another. You’ll explore your history with anger, identify triggers, assess current stressors, and discuss how anger impacts your daily life. They’ll be able to answer any questions you have and walk you through what to expect out of your work together.
Step 3: Understanding the Root Cause
Over the course of sessions together, you’ll uncover the deeper reasoning behind your anger, such as fear, stress, rejection, or unmet needs.
Step 4: Developing Skills & Strategies
Based on your triggers and root cause, you’ll learn specific tools for managing your anger. This might include things like grounding skills, emotional regulation, communication techniques, or strategies to shortcut anger from building up.
Step 5: Practice & Feedback
You’ll apply your new skills between sessions, debriefing with your therapist during sessions so that you can amplify what works, and find new solutions for what doesn’t.
Step 6: Long-Term Change & Relapse Prevention
All along, you’ll be learning how to maintain progress, prevent old patterns from resurfacing, and strengthen healthier ways of coping with big emotions.
